A SPECIAL THANKS...
The Meersand Family of Manhattan
Beach, California and the South Bay Starz recently
made a $15,000 contribution to the Starz Foundation,
the second largest donation ever made to the organization,
in memory of Pamela Meersand.
Pamela Meersand, wife
of Alan, and mother of Emily, current sophomore at
UCSB, and Grant and Travis, 8th graders at Manhattan
Beach Middle School, who play for the South Bay Starz,
passed away in her sleep suddenly and unexpectedly
at 48 years of age from an enlarged heart on July
31st, 2006.
In addition to the donation
made to the Starz Foundation, the Meersand family
has also donated scholarships in Pamela's name and
memory to three Mira Costa High School students,
made large contributions to the American Heart Association
and The Smile Train, paying for in excess of 50 cleft
palate surgeries for children in third-world countries
in memory of Pamela.
Thank you to the Meersand
family for their generous contributions in Pamela's
name.
For questions and more information
on how to donate to the Starz Lacrosse Foundation,
